They focus the knowledge, resources, and infrastructures of key stakeholders on developing innovation and skills ecosystems, contributing to regional development, and promoting environmental, social, and economic growth in Europe through green and sustainable innovation processes enabled by VET Excellence.

Join the Transition and be part of the Solution
During september 25th and 26th, greenovet partners have gathered at the Forum on Vocational Excellence 2023, in Amsterdam, to share knowledge, inspire and learn from each other.
GREENOVET provided a workshop called "Join the Transition and be part of the Solution", which aimed to boost green and sustainable innovation processes enabled by VET excellence, inspire people to join the green transition, and help move beyond the doom and gloom, and become part of the solution to address the pressing wicked problems.
Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Bottled Water Choices Emerge from International Green Innovation Competition 2023
This week marked the International Competition in Green Innovation Excellence 2023, a platform for inventive minds to address sustainability challenges. The event saw the formation of five teams, meticulously crafted to embody a blend of nationalities, age groups, and gender diversity, aligned with the consortium's vision.
The central challenge posed by an Austrian company entailed devising strategies to influence a consumer's preference for a specific brand of bottled water during the purchase decision. Proposed solutions ranged from enlightening consumers about packaging materials, focusing on the material itself, to encouraging reuse and recycling.
STATUS QUO ANALYSIS OF ENABLERS
Following the skills gap analysis in regard to green innovation, publicly available in the report “Green innovation in VET: Status quo and challenges in the participating regions”, the GREENOVET team focused on identifying the status quo through critical self-assessment of the most important enablers, i.e., VET providers.
WHITE PAPER: REGIONAL GREEN INNOVATION COVE STRUCTURE MODEL
In accordance with the GREENOVET strategic research with main goal to lay the foundations for establishment of CoVEs in green innovation in four European regions, a white paper which includes recommendations for building a proper model of such centers has been developed.
MEASURING SKILLS GAP IN GREEN INNOVATION IN LINE WITH S3
The Greenovet team conducted a skill gap analyses in each of the participating regions: Styria, Vaasa, Leiria and Skopje. This gap leads to difficulties for individuals to find a job and for employees to find appropriately trained workers. The attention is focused on green innovation and this analysis provides input from both employers and VET providers, with regard to a greener, better and more sustainable future in professional life.
Green Innovation in VET: Status quo and challenges in participating regions' Report

This report on the "Status quo and challenges in participating regions" is dated of March 2022. The research indicates the current situation in each region, the elements that are missing and the needs to be further developed in order to encourage the development of green innovation.
Some things you need to know:
The analyses show that, in each region, there is a need for revision of the existing educational programs and their extension with new and modern contents in line with contemporary society and the rapidly changing industrial needs. Almost all participants in the regional surveys believe they could benefit from the services of the CoVEs.

Between the 26th and 30th of September, the “GREENOVET Meeting & Training” took place in Graz, Austria. This event brought together partners from the 4 regions (Leiria, Skopje, Vaasa and Graz), for a full week of meetings, visits, workshops and a lot of networking.

Skills for a green city

Vocational skills are the key to faster green transition of the economy and society in general and therefore it is necessary for all parties involved to work actively and intensively on their development and inclusion in the curriculum and educational processes.
This was the conclusion of the panel on "Skills for a green city" which was organized within the initiative European Week of Vocational Skills and the project "European Platform for Excellence in Green Innovation and Vocational Education and Training - GREENOVET".

Center for Vocational Education and Training for Green Innovation (CoVE) in Leiria
On March 2, the protocol for the Center of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) for Green Innovation in Leiria was signed. The objective is to support the transition to an innovative, inclusive and sustainable economy, and to define training plans for teachers and students.
Center for Vocational Education and Training for Green Innovation (CoVE) in Skopje
By the end of 2021, the Center for Vocational Education and Training for Green Innovation (CoVE) will become implemented in Skopje, Northern Macedonia. In addition to this, three other CoVEs will become opened in Styria - Austria, Vaasa - Finland and Leiria - Portugal.
Regional workshop Skopje
The regional workshop in Skopje, North Macedonia, was held on 26th January with 35 participants. During the workshop, four breakout rooms were created in which representatives from all target groups were involved.
The interactive workshop resulted in a quality discussion sharing of opinions and directions for future collaboration.
Regional workshop in Styria
The regional workshop in Graz, Austria, was held on 25th January 2021, with 37 participants. It was divided into 2 Workshops:
Workshop 1, where the skills gap was discussed,
Workshop 2, where the potential role of/benefits for the stakeholders in the project and the CoVE were discussed.
Regional workshop in Leiria
The regional workshop in Leiria, Portugal, was held on 19th January 2021 with 56 participants.
The participants included several companies, VET providers, local officials and other institutions.
Strategic Research in progress
With joint efforts and united minds, our team is working hard on strategic research. An online survey was conducted in all four regions to get to know the status quo and identify the skills gap. The respondents were wisely selected from the lists of stakeholders.
Regional workshop in Vaasa
The regional workshop in Vaasa, Finland was held on 13th January 2021 with more than three dozen participants. Within the workshop, four breakout rooms were created in which lively discussions took place.
In Finland, VET education providers at EQF level 4-5 is considered in the national framework and curricula stated by the Finnish National Agency of Education for some time now.
To establish four fully functional and interconnected CoVEs (Centres of Vocational Excellence) in Green Innovation, embedded in the local innovation and skills ecosystems.
To enable Greentech projects, conducted by education providers of secondary and tertiary students, jointly and in interconnected VET scenarios.
To interconnect the industry with VET providers on EQF levels 4‐8.
To establish and strengthen innovative teaching methods and educational trends in VET through the CoVEs.
To bring closer the green innovation opportunities to a broader public in Europe.
To foster the employability and entrepreneurial readiness of VET students, preparing and connecting them to the labour market.
To adapt technical, pedagogical and didactical skills of VET teachers to the upcoming environmental, social and economic challenges.
