The Portuguese CoVE will act on the knowledge, resources, and infrastructure of the main stakeholders and will contribute to regional growth through the promotion of environmental, social, and economic development through Green and sustainable innovation processes, enabled by Vocational Education and Training (VET).

Leiria intends to integrate its CoVE in the National Catalog of Vocational Training Qualifications. The Polytechnic of Leiria and other 16 stakeholders, including schools, business associations, and companies, will develop the actions, providing teachers, students, companies, and society in general with the importance of transitioning to a Greener planet.

This step, explained Vítor Ferreira, a researcher at the Polytechnic of Leiria and the representant of the Project in Portugal, will allow “to survey the needs that exist in the area of environmental sustainability and, from there, define the fundamental skills to advance with the training of specialists".

According to the planned timetable, he added, training actions will be carried out between September and October of this year.
